The Ripple Effect of Heart-Led Decisions

That thing you’re being guided to create… without a doubt, there is a reason. It’s leading you to your dream life.
10 years ago I launched my first small business. (Wait, ten years ago?! I can’t believe it!)
It was an online vintage shop, Little Dish Vintage. I was the “Little Dish” of my family and it was inspired by my love for thrifting and the southwest. I had a 9-5 at the time and it was my creative outlet, the thing I could always come back to.
If I hadn’t created this business, I might not have connected with one of my current best friends (hi Sam!) who sent me a DM that she loved what I was sharing. We might not have chatted on the phone for hours about our common passion for antiques, mental health and design. We probably wouldn’t have supported each other through quitting our soul sucking careers. And we definitely wouldn’t have had the idea to start a *new* business together, Friendly Feels, in the midst of the pandemic. A business that would show me how much I loved creating safe and expansive spaces for community.
If I hadn’t created my vintage business, I wouldn’t have hosted a pop up at one of my favorite retailers, Prism Boutique, where I met my first freelance marketing client. A path that would then give me the freedom to (finally!) move across the country solo to my favorite city, Austin… a longtime manifestation of 5 years.
If I hadn’t moved to Austin, I wouldn’t have manifested my dream home space with everything on my list. I might not have ever created the needed distance from the known and the comfortable to fully step into the person I knew I was meant to be. I most likely wouldn’t have met many of my current friends and clients.
And if I hadn’t had all the above happen, I wouldn’t have had the real life experience to start my manifestation business in 2021, leading others in creating their dreams, too. I wouldn’t have met many of my soul tribe, my community. I wouldn’t have started my membership, Abundant Collective, where I developed my voice, my gifts, my channel as a guide. I might not have lead my own workshops, meditations, circles or retreats, finding my true love to create community and experiences.
And if I hadn’t made all those leaps and learned to trusted my gut, I might not have developed my intuition fully enough to act on the call to start living nomadically. And I might not have met my now boyfriend, who was living on the road, too.
I wouldn’t have received the vision to create The Manifestation Map, my first physical product. An idea that wouldn’t have been possible without many of my previous businesses (vintage, manifestation, travel all in one!).
We wouldn’t have traveled around the US together, or learned that we would make a really great team, his photography skills and my marketing background fueling our creative vision. We probably wouldn’t have partnered with Airbnb’s and be lead to the places and people that would deeply inspire and expand us.
Without a doubt, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today. I wouldn’t have the capacity to hold the highs, the lows, the in between’s. I wouldn’t have the learned the tools to finding home within myself and wherever life was leading me.
And I definitely wouldn’t be here right now… starting this journey, the journey of living life guided.
There’s a lot more I could say here. The ripple effect of 1 decision being limitless…all the small moments, interactions, experiences… the magical sh*t that living this way opens you up to. I feel like I have a treasure chest of stories waiting to be shared. And I will give them all their moment, sometime soon.
But all of this to say… Trust where you’re being guided to go. Believe in what you’re being guided to create. Follow it, act on it. There is a reason. And your heart already knows it.
It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone (or even you) and 99% of the time it won’t at all. It’s not supposed to.
You’re being lead towards a life you could never imagine… keep listening, keep going, keep taking steps.

P.s. I do believe that the things that are meant for us will always find us, whether we make that 1 decision or not, but for this story’s purpose, it’s fun to wonder… Would I have met certain people? Would I be where I am today? Maybe yes, maybe no… will we ever know?!

This was a beautiful reminder. I sometimes think about the 'sliding door's moments in my life.
One big one was deciding to go to University of Denver instead of Florida State. That decision led to a marriage and children.
It's doubtful my little humans would exist if I didn't make that choice, it blows my mind.
I feel called to build a foundation for my business in 2024. It's been a meandering walk!! But I'm enjoying the journey.
